# Puthri Model
The Puthri Model
Puthri is India’s first ever developmental project that seeks to create Career Intentionality among underprivileged girl students. It is an initiative by Avtar Human Capital Trust (AHCT), a not for-profit public charitable organization, working in the field of economic empowerment of women.

From our founder’s desk
Everybody has dreams. It is the reality around us that propels or dispels them.
When we talk about making ours a developed nation, it is essential to include all into our growth story. While many of us have our own vehicles to use to drive to our destinations, there are many who are left behind due to the lack of it. Project Puthri, a cause which is close to my heart, is an effort to enable the underprivileged girl children to pursue their dreams and break out of the vicious cycle of poverty and to become tax paying citizens.
After completing 5 successful years, Project Puthri now is all set to spread its wings to impact the lives of many more girl students across the length and breadth of our country. The success of the program so far has only given us impetus to take this model to every Indian school where girls can be taught to be career intentional and create their own destinies.
I thank every volunteer, teacher, donor, role model, mentor who has worked with us so far. It is your dedication and commitment to our Puthris that has resulted in this success. Looking forward to creating many more intentional Puthris along with all of you in the coming years!

Being a mentor gives me immense satisfaction because I can help and guide Puthri scholars in developing career intentionality. An educated girl can empower an entire generation, and an informed Puthri scholar will opt for the right career path and inspire the next generation. I take pride in being a part of the team that works hard to interact, identify, and hone the skills, of deserving Puthri scholars for a bright future.

Mentoring online through webinar sessions has encouraged me to be creative in my presentation. Searching for stories that Puthri’s can identify or connect with, and presenting them so that every Puthri participates during the mentoring session, has been a rewarding experience. I thank all the Puthri volunteers for helping me through the sessions and making my learning experience a satisfying journey.

As a volunteer, I have personally learned a great deal along with Puthri scholars. I derive immense satisfaction in presenting the animation and graphical content to the online sessions that attract Puthri participation. Teaching them life skills through interesting graphical content is indeed a learning experience for me too. I congratulate team Puthri for kindling this transformation.

Team Puthri has proved its mettle by quickly adapting to Virtual Life. Our team Puthri tided over the difficulties of presenting online mentoring sessions. The team took great pains to make it interactive like the real mentoring sessions. My experiences as a peer learning coach and a mentor have motivated me throughout the year.

I have been an active volunteer since the inception of Project Puthri. By teaching her the much-needed life skills, Project Puthri empowers her. During the difficult year of 2020, team Puthri united to push through and reach more Puthri scholars via online mentoring sessions. I am proud to be a part of Project Puthri.

It is my pleasure to be writing about my experience with team Puthri during the “covidemic” academic year 20-21. During the pandemic times, Team Puthri has set a benchmark in spearheading towards its goal. Project Puthri has crossed important milestones. Proud to be part of the team united with the single aim of educating and empowering girl children.

The jury role in 100th virtual session celebration made clear to me the longing ness of our Puthris towards such an exposure. Being a part of both physical and virtual PCCA sessions, I feel, it definitely helps as an eye opener in their future career choices. The support, guidance and the teamwork of Project Puthri is highly admirable. Happy to be a part of it.
