The annual volunteer meet of Avtar Human Capital took place on 24th June 2023 at the Annamalai University Amunini Club. The annual event takes place to celebrate and applaud the year-long volunteering and the commitment of Project Puthri Volunteers. The event was chaired by Mr. Ahmed Elmahdy and Mr. Amitrajit Ghosh from Dow Chemical, as well as Ms. Manju Bharadwaj, Chief People Officer, Straive, The entire day was filled with Skits, poetry, music, and quizzes that were huge hits.

Mr. Umasanker Kandaswamy, Trustee, Avtar Human Capital Trust, delivered the welcome address at Prayag 2023, an annual volunteers celebration event.
“We have to be part of a larger purpose to make our lives meaningful. Today, it is the day of volunteers to celebrate their efforts that are making the girls financially independent. Through them, you are impacting a generation. This is a proud moment for me to be part of an organization committed to a cause like Project Puthri.” Mr. Amitrajit Ghosh, Site HR Head, Global Engineering Solutions Center, Dow India, shared his thoughts with the volunteers.
“Project Puthri is personal for me because I have been raised by women. The most impactful persons in my career have been women. Seeing the passion of volunteers has been inspiring. This project illustrates how we can bring a community together.”Mr. Ahmed Elmahdy, Senior Director, Central Engineering, Dow Chemical, addressed the crowd during the program.
The annual event marked milestone for us. Our Puthri, Ms. Kamalishri was absorbed into Dow Chemical as an employee. There were delegates from the organization who presented the offer letter and it was a proud moment for all the Puthri Mentors.

Chief People Officer, Straive, delivered the chief guest address during the annual volunteers celebration event.
“Puthri has continued its impact through all uncertainties brought by COVID since 2020. We have been able to complete our commitments within a short time after schools returned to in-person mode. We are successfully operating in 100+ schools in over 10 locations of TamilNadu and Puduchery. Kudos to all of you for clocking in over 27,500 hours of volunteering.” Mr. Eswar Balasubramanian, VP-Outreach & Impact, AHCT, talked about Project Puthri’s journey towards the end of the meet up.
