My dear Well-wishers and Patrons who are redesigning destinies,
The world we stand on the precipice of is vastly different from the one we knew.
Automation and innovation are reshaping the corporate landscapes. The definition of "success" is undergoing a metamorphosis. In the future of work, it will no longer be enough for individuals to be trained for a specific job. Therefore, we must equip our youth with agility, adaptability, and resilience to thrive in a dynamic and ever-evolving world. This is where our mission takes on a profound significance. We are not merely preparing our students for careers; we are igniting their potential to become architects of their destinies. We are nurturing their curiosity, fostering their creativity, and inculcating in them the critical thinking skills that will enable them to not just adapt to change, but to drive it.
As the Managing Trustee of AHCT, it brings me immense joy to witness the impact we've had on countless young minds. As we release this newsletter, we have been able to enable
15,000 Puthris and counting. In the last one year, we have covered over
130 schools, delivering more than
5000 sessions for our Puthris. On the other hand, our volunteers and mentors have impacted more than
2000 boys through (Men Impacting Trust & Respect) across
21 schools in three different cities in Tamil Nadu.
Yet, as we step into the future, my heart brims with an even greater fervour – a fervour to empower our Puthris and MITR scholars entrusted to our care, not just for the careers they choose, but for the lives they will design.
We envision a future where more than 5 lakh women enter workforce by the year 2027, and it gives me pride, that we have already accomplished by enabling over one lakh women coming into the workforce. Our PCP scholars will soon be part of the women involved in economic activities. At present there are over
850 PCP scholars and our corporate partners have already begun bringing courses tailored to them. We will also be rolling out various certification courses for enabling them with employability skills.
You may ask, are classroom interventions and certifications enough? My answer is NO. Hence, the last six months of the year have been outstanding, with two consecutive Udyog Utsav editions – the career visioning conference for our Puthris in two locations – Chennai and Coimbatore covering over
850 Puthris.I am also happy to announce that we have provided scholarships to
170 scholars and the scholarships summed to be about 50 lakhs for the Puthris.
Imagine a future where our Puthris, with the power of knowledge and empowered by their dreams, become leaders in fields yet unknown. Imagine our MITR scholars, brimming with empathy and purpose, tackling society's challenges with innovative solutions. This is the future we envision, a future where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to not just dream big, but to make those dreams a reality.
If not for our corporate donors, we would not have been able to accomplish what we have so far. We would like to thank all the corporate donors who have contributed to making this year a celebratory one for our beneficiaries!
At this juncture, please be informed that we are not confined to Tamil Nadu anymore. We have marked our presence in
12 locations, including Bengaluru.
As we move forward, let us continue to be guided by the values that have brought us this far – compassion, empathy, intentionality, and the unwavering belief in the potential of every single Puthri and MITR scholar.
With immense hope and optimism.
