An insightful interview with Anju Mary K, Head - India Corporate Communication & CSR Danfoss Industries Pvt Ltd. (Our Primary Sponsor for this year's conference), on Project Puthri's annual career visioning conference Udyog Utsav 2021 which was virtual this year, and an indication on how the future course should be for the Puthri Scholars. 1. How Danfoss views project Puthri? Ans: Project Puthri is a great initiative supporting deserving girl students from underprivileged backgrounds in TN by identifying their strengths, enhancing their core & soft skills and guiding them towards a career beneficial for life. Project Puthri along with like-minded corporate sponsors help in the economic empowerment of our nation's women right from school level and gives them hope & confidence to dream big, action a change and rewrite their destiny. Danfoss is happy to partner with Puthri in making this noble vision a reality. 2. What value addition you wanted to make through Udyog Utsav? Ans: We, at Danfoss, wanted to meet these budding future citizens, motivate them to pursue higher education and introduce career opportunities for women in the manufacturing sector. While sharing there are ample opportunities for everyone today, we also wished to encourage more students to take up engineering as a stream and become tomorrow's supply chain, operations, R&D, Sales, Finance & Marketing leaders within the manufacturing sector. Through these interactive sessions & by showcasing our women employees, we wish to encourage the growth of more female engineers in the country and hope that Danfoss can employee some of these Puthri scholars in coming years... 3. Leaders of Danfoss who participated in the event & their crisp testimony Ans: "It was indeed a great experience to virtually engage with so many enthusiastic girl students from across TN & Pondicherry and sensitize them about manufacturing industry, our company Danfoss and the various career opportunities available for them. Key takeaways of the event Ans: Although, the event was virtual this year, we saw great participation and interest from the girls. The event agenda was well thought through and had well-planned speaker sessions and highly interactive Q&A sessions. We hope the students benefitted from the same and will keep pursuing their education & career goals, to create a better tomorrow for themselves. We look forward to continue supporting Puthri in this journey to empower our girl children & see them flourish in life. 5. Future trajectory for Puthri Ans: The future trajectory for Puthri in my opinion, should definitely be to support Puthri scholars in their complete transformation cycle from classrooms to boardrooms. Together, we need to ensure that these girl children pursue higher education, get access to student loans/sponsors, recruitment & placement platforms and finally, get settled in comfortable on-roll positions upon completion of studies. Only then will their lives fully change and our empowerment endeavor come full cycle, giving rise to more real-life Puthri ambassadors. Wishing Team Puthri the very best for the same.
