Mr. Vamsi Mr. Vamsi Krishna V, Volunteer

As a Volunteer of Project Puthri, kindly

1. Share your Exciting / Fun / Heart-touching moment in your volunteering journey -

Being in Puthri is indeed fun as it is beyond volunteering. The most heart touching moment I would say is the day when a Puthri member shared in a LINK team meeting that the scholars of Kannagi Nagar school had written the feedback for that academic year and every feedback had my name on it as fun-loving, caring, best brother and likewise, for which I feel much blessed. They showed the same affection till the end of Udyog Utsav 2019, when I went to pick and drop them off.

2. What's the one thing that made you to be a Volunteer?

The half- hour call with Puthri team, way back when Puthri had started and the information passed through my colleagues in Flex. I was not at all confident that the team would accept me, but that call changed my perspective and I started dedicating my time for Puthri activities.

3. Who inspires and keeps your volunteering momentum going on?

Ms. Suganya Raman, Master trainer from Flex. She was the one who introduced me to the world of volunteering through the CSER initiative in Flex and she is the morale booster to go and serve the society.

4. Mention few key takeaways from this volunteering experience

The grit, determination, passion in each and every girl child to achieve something bigger in life and the way they work on to achieve, that made me learn much from them to lead my life. Positivity from every situation and learning is another key takeaway from the volunteering activity.

5. As a Volunteer, how do you plan and prioritize your time? Your motivational mantra for someone who would like to volunteer?

Weekends are indeed meant for IT professionals to eat, sleep and enjoy peacefully. But those are not for me. For me the sunshine is those scholars greeting me with a broad smile, my breakfast indeed their witty jokes, my sleep is their quick learning and application in their lives and my fun time and enjoyment is indeed the time when scholars feel happy and are joyous to attend Puthri sessions.

Mr. Krishna Mr. Krishna Narayanan, Volunteer

As a Volunteer of Project Puthri, kindly...

1. Share your Exciting / Fun / Heart-touching moment in your volunteering journey

Volunteering is always a fun-filled learning experience.

My exciting experience was definitely Puthri's Udyog Utsav Event. It was great fun to spend time with the Puthris. I was part of the logistics team. So, we went to the school, picked them up and dropped them back by bus.

That one day was really a festival for them. They came out of their routine and had a great time filled with fun activities & career path sessions. For many of them it was kind of mini vacation. And for me personally, spending time with them was exciting and overwhelming.

2. What's the one thing that made you to be a Volunteer?

I always believe "When you learn something, your learnings will not get fulfilled, unless you transfer that knowledge to others. "Similarly , life will get fulfilled when you contribute back to the society. That thought pushed me to become a Puthri Volunteer".

3. Who inspires and keeps your volunteering momentum going on?

All the Puthri volunteers especially women volunteers, are spending their time and energy productively and managing their family as well. When I compare myself with them, I feel what I am contributing is not even a penny of my time. That keeps my momentum still going.

4. Mention few key takeaways from this volunteering experience

a. Life is not only what you see, it has another side.

b. You can always learn from children.

c. Happiness can be experienced by giving back to the world.

5. As a Volunteer, how do you plan and prioritize your time? Your motivational mantra for someone who would like to volunteer?

I will plan my weekend time for the Puthri volunteering activities. Will prioritize my other activities accordingly.

Volunteer Mantra: "Give back and enjoy the great learning experience".
